Live clinics. Live calls. Measured results.
Strello picks up every call, books the appointment while it’s still on the line, and hands the front desk about a week of its month back.
Strello answers 99.9% of the calls that reach its lines (July 2026), across every live deployment in Canada and the USA. Below, the numbers behind that: the hours it returns to the front desk, who actually calls, and how each figure is measured.
About a week of admin capacity, returned every month.
Strello doesn’t only answer the phone — it completes the booking work end to end, so about a third of new phone bookings are finished without anyone at the desk touching them.

The calls a phone line quietly loses.
At one pilot site — a Family Health Organization in east Toronto — we logged every call attempt on the human front-desk line and on its Strello line over the same period.
On the same demand, the human line answered about a third of attempts; the Strello line answered all but two. Both misses trace to the clinic’s phone-plan concurrency limit, not the agent, which takes concurrent calls without a queue. The pattern has held as we’ve grown: across every live deployment in July 2026, Strello answered 99.9% of the calls that reached its lines.
Older patients aren’t being left behind.
The objection we hear most is: “Our patients are older — they won’t talk to an AI.” Yet callers aged 55 and older account for roughly half of age-tagged calls, and most complete their calls without staff involvement.

Calls handled autonomously, by age subgroup
Autonomous-handling rates in this section — the chart, 67.1% and the 70.6% reference — all come from one dataset: the Feb–Mar 2026 pilot analysis, 944 age-tagged calls. Ages were tagged when unique caller IDs — linked to a single chart — matched the caller. So a younger relative calling for an elderly patient (or a parent calling for a child) isn’t counted as an older caller. Note: small subgroups — 0–24 in particular — carry wide confidence intervals.
Callers 55 and over resolved 67.1% of their calls with no staff involvement, consistent with the sample average. Phone is the one channel every age group already uses, which is why voice reaches older patients that portals and apps miss.
Roughly 3.8× the uptake of an online booking tool.
Measured on one identical denominator — every eligible new booking among registered patients, same clinics, same period — a conversation on the line the patient already dials converts nearly four times as often as the booking portal.
Both channels are measured the same way: bookings completed through the channel as a proportion of all eligible new bookings among registered patients over the same measurement period. Eligible means a registered patient and an available slot; walk-ins, referrals and staff-entered bookings are outside the denominator for both.
Take a deep dive into clinics.
The first three pilot deployments, Feb–Mar 2026, each over its own initial rollout period. Sites are described rather than named to protect clinic privacy.
| Clinic | Calls | Appts scheduled | Changes & confirmations | Handled autonomously | Share of eligible new bookings | Hours saved / month |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Group family practice, Hamilton region | 876 | 272 | 165 | 64.2% | 43.0% | 31 |
| Multidisciplinary family medicine & walk-in, west Toronto | 595 | 115 | 120 | 71.0% | 24.9% | 35 |
| Family Health Organization, east Toronto | 395 | 182 | 76 | 75.6% | 41.5% | 47 |
Strello has since expanded to further sites and now handles 20,000+ calls a month; those sites are not in this table.
How we measure.
Numbers are only as good as their definitions.
- Handled autonomously
- Calls completed end to end by the agent with no human involvement. The remainder transfer to the front desk — most of them by the clinic’s own routing rules, e.g. clinical questions and non-routine cases.
- Staff hours saved
- Average front-desk call duration × calls handled autonomously, normalised to one month — including for sites live under a month at the time of analysis. Average human call duration was extrapolated from a sample of roughly 300 calls across customer clinics. It is a modelled figure, not a timesheet measurement.
- Booking share
- Bookings completed through a channel as a proportion of all eligible new bookings among registered patients over the same measurement period — eligible meaning a registered patient and an available slot. The Strello figure and the online-tool figure use this identical denominator, so the two are directly comparable.
- Caller age
- Tagged to incoming calls from unique caller IDs only, which limits miscounting when a younger person calls on behalf of an elderly patient. Callers without a matched ID are excluded.
- Answer rate
- Attempts that reached the line and were answered, as a share of all attempts logged by the phone provider. Busy and no-answer outcomes count as unanswered.
